Goldwind USA Awards Engineering Contract for Shady Oaks Wind Farm Project to Sargent & Lundy


June 23, 2011 - Goldwind USA has selected Sargent & Lundy to provide electrical engineering, design, and procurement services for the 109.5-MW Shady Oaks Wind Farm Project. The Shady Oaks project, located in Lee County, Ill., will consist of 71 Goldwind permanent magnet direct drive (PMDD) turbines. With over 6,000 MW of turbines operating globally, the Shady Oaks project stands as the Goldwind’s first entry into utility-scale projects in the United States. Sargent & Lundy’s scope of work includes complete engineering and procurement services for the 138/34.5 kV project substation, the 138 kV interconnection switchyard, and the cut-in of the existing 138 kV ComEd transmission line.

CapX2020 Awards Engineering and Design Services on Brookings County-Hampton 345 kV Transmission Project to Sargent & Lundy


February 17, 2011 - CapX2020 has selected Sargent & Lundy to provide engineering and design services for the 345-kV Brookings County-Hampton Transmission Line Project. The project extends approximately 240 miles from the Brookings County Substation in eastern South Dakota to the Hampton substation southeast of Minneapolis, Minn.

Anticipated Emission Limits Reviewed in Power Magazine Commentary on Upcoming New Utility MACT Rules


January 15, 2011 - The January 2011 issue of Power magazine included Sargent & Lundy observations on the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency's upcoming National Emission Standard for Hazardous Air Pollutants (NESHAP). The commentary column, "Anticipating the New Utility MACT Rules," focused on the emission limits that will be based on MACT (maximum achievable control technology).
